According to Google’s Data, U.S.  purchase intent keywords, since 2016, has risen from keywords like “can I buy”, “to buy” to “near me” by over 500%. It is evident that keyword – near me, is being used extensively by searchers to look for something nearby in their vicinity at a particular period of time.

For more data, we ran a Google trend search for last 12 months, to find out what kind of queries get searched for with the “near me” keyword and the study revealed that there is an increase from 51 searches to 100 searches for this keyword in India alone and from 62 to 95 searches globally.

With an increase in these search terms, it will be favorable that your business shows up when people search with the nearby keywords and hence, it is also essential to keep your “Google My Business” profile updated to be picked for such queries and even otherwise. With the above statistics and insights, we have compiled a few tips on how to boost your Google My Business (GMB) profile.

Tip 1: Encourage customers to write genuine reviews about your product or service

It is important to have reviews on the GMB page as people who search for products or services with a nearby keyword or even otherwise check for reviews first. If there are a healthy amount of good reviews, it creates a sense of credibility in the eyes of the audience. Hence, it is recommended to encourage your consumers to write reviews for your business.

Tip 2: Respond to reviews on time

As much as a review is important for credibility, it is also important to respond to these reviews in a timely manner. It is recommended to have a detailed Google My Business profile as it gives information about your product or service to your potential customers. Since this information can be edited by anyone by using their login id, it is recommended not to leave any information incomplete, as your competitor can also edit your profile.
